Northern Lights (released February 2013)

Departing from a modern country theme, Tommy travels further back to the basics on his second release, Northern Lights. Taking a more acoustic-focused view of country music, Carpenter also mixes in more than a hint of folk. The song list alternates between past and present and follows the story of trading places and the associated pros and cons of movement and risk-taking.

Wondering and Southern Bliss provide the bookends of thought and place the story into context. The album shows some diversity with Here Comes Your Wind and Don’t Lay Me Back Down, which provide a breath of energy into an otherwise controlled environment.

Northern Lights is the second project that Tommy & Ed Woltil developed together with Ed handling the instruments and backing vocals. Ed brings a rich and prominent acoustic guitar to nearly all of the tracks.

Northern Lights was recorded at DEG Studios (Saint Petersburg, FL) and engineered by Dana Walsh and Jeff Lynn. Additional tracks were recorded at Tune Tree Studio (Largo, FL) by Ed Woltil.
