Elkins City Limits (released January 2011)

Tommy Carpenter's debut release is a roots view of modern country. Featuring dominant retro country vocals and driving guitars, Tommy takes on his first country project with not a trace of the 80s pomp that nearly destroyed the genre.  The influences of Hank, Jr. and Waylon Jennings cannot be ignored and the story lines reflect the daily challenges that the average person faces.

Not the Same starts the album with a taste of Americana and Freedom brings in a healthy dose of rock and roll early on. Two Years Gone and Second Street are classic country tunes that tip the cap to Merle Haggard. 5-9 Ain’t Free brings everyone to the table and Hard Time rounds out what truly is an album for everyone that enjoys country and Americana music.

Elkins City Limits was the first collaboration between Tommy and Ed Woltil. Ed trots out a deep country sound with powerful guitars and the occasional piano to provide support.

Elkins City Limits was recorded at Studio B (Saint Petersburg, FL) and was engineered by Brian Merrill. Additional tracks were recorded at Tune Tree Studio (Largo, FL) by Ed Woltil.
