Tommy Carpenter is an American singer-songwriter born and raised in West Virginia. His great love of Bakersfield country, Appalachian gospel and all things rock and roll informs his own blend of country and rock. Influenced by Merle Haggard, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Pink Floyd and Tom Petty, Tommy’s music can only be described as Americana with a hint of 70s popular rock.

Tommy has appeared on five studio albums and is currently celebrating his third solo release, Tailwinds. Tailwinds follows Northern Lights (2013) and Elkins City Limits (2011). In addition to writing and producing all three albums, Tommy took the lead on nearly all of the guitar work found on Tailwinds.

Tommy's latest release leans towards rock and roll but brings in classic country tastes with a wide range of guitar styles. The result is an amalgamation of country and rock and roll, balancing a light and relaxing vocal performance.

Tommy resides in Madeira Beach, Florida, with his wife Michelle (WVU 1998) and son, Jack. When not writing or performing, he generally has his nose in a history book or is playing golf poorly.
